Allen D. Malony is a professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Oregon, where he directs parallel computing research projects, notably the TAU parallel performance system project. Allen has extensive experience in performance benchmarking and characterization of HPC systems, and has developed performance evaluation tools for a range of parallel machines during the last 28 years. Allen was awarded the NSF National Young Investigator award, was a Fulbright Research Scholar to the Netherlands and Austria, received the Alexander von Humboldt Research Award for Senior U.S. Scientists, and is presently the Tocqueville-Fulbright Distinguished Chair in France. Allen is the CEO of ParaTools, Inc., founded with Dr. Sameer Shende in 2004. ParaTools SAS is a French company started in 2014 and wholly owned company by ParaTools, Inc. ParaTools specializes in HPC performance engineering, application optimization, and parallel software and tools.
