Speaker Bio

Andrew Beam, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School, where he builds machine learning models using large sources of biomedical and healthcare data. His long-term research goal is to improve medicine through the harmonization of machine learning and clinical practice. Andrew's projects have a special focus on using quantitative methods to improve outcomes for preterm infants. He is the recipient of a "Pioneer Award" from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for developing an artificial intelligence system that improves access to high-quality healthcare information.
