Speaker Bio

Kal Mos is Vice president of Connected Car, User Interaction & Telematics at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. Kal is responsible for innovations in areas such as machine learning, connected services, user experience, big data, and analytics. Together with his team, he develops Machine Learning algorithms that make driving experience intelligent and more personalized than ever before - as shown at CES 2017 with the new C-Class, which automatically learns driver’s habits and makes intelligent suggestions for the driver’s actions. For the Concept EQ car, he developed the advanced high-detail 3D map with its trendsetting design based on HERE technology. Kal joined Mercedes-Benz in 2002 to create and lead the Connected Car group. Since then, he has been turning visionary ideas into exceptional products such as the Google Home and Amazon Alexa integration into all new Mercedes-Benz vehicles. He led the development of the User Experience of the self-driving research car F015, as well as the 3D renderings in real time of the Concept IAA car. Prior to Mercedes-Benz, Kal worked as the chief technologist of OnStar, where he led a team of General Motors' telematics experts and engineers in developing the OnStar in-vehicle hardware and software platform.
