Kari Pulli

Speaker Bio

Kari Pulli is chief technology officer at Meta. Previously, Kari worked as senior principal engineer and CTO of the Imaging and Camera Technologies Group at Intel, influencing the architecture of future IPUs in hardware and software alike and building high-performing advanced solutions teams. He was vice president of computational imaging at Light, and before that he led research teams at NVIDIA Research as a senior director and at Nokia Research as a Nokia fellow on computational photography, computer vision, and augmented reality. Kari headed Nokia's graphics technology, and contributed to many Khronos and JCP mobile graphics and media standards, and wrote a book on mobile 3D graphics standards. He holds computer science degrees from the University of Minnesota (B.S.), the University of Oulu, in Finland (M.S., Lic. Tech.), the University of Washington (Ph.D.) and an M.B.A. from the University of Oulu. He has taught and worked as a researcher at Stanford, the University of Oulu, and MIT.
