Federico Tombari

Senior Research Scientist, Technical University of Munich (TUM)

Speaker Bio

Federico Tombari is a senior research scientist and team leader at the CAMP Chair of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Federico has more than 10 years of research experience in the field of computer vision and robotic perception, including renowned contributions for the tasks of 3D matching and object detection. He received his Ph.D in computer vision in 2009 from the University of Bologna (Italy), at the same institution he worked as an assistant professor between 2013 and 2016. Federico has over 110 peer-reviewed publications, including the most influential conferences and journals of these fields. He is a senior scientist volunteer for the Open Perception foundation and a core developer for the Point Cloud Library. In 2015, he was the recipient of a Google Faculty Research Award. His works have been awarded at conferences and workshops such as 3DIMPVT'11, MICCAI'15, and ECCV-R6D'16. Federico is a research partner of companies such as Google, Toyota, BMW, Canon, and Zeiss.
