Bryan Peele is a Ph.D. candidate in the Organic Robotics Laboratory at Cornell University. His research is focused on the fabrication of active systems using soft materials. This work includes 3D printing soft actuators and developing soft displays that can stretch to more than six times their original length. Bryan is building on this work with soft interfaces to develop more immersive haptic feedback for virtual and augmented reality. His work in the Organic Robotics Lab has resulted in three provisional patent applications. Prior to enrolling at Cornell, Bryan worked at Holocene Clean Energy, a renewable energy startup in Raleigh, N.C. As the lead mechanical engineer, Bryan designed and oversaw fabrication of commercial-scale solar thermal energy systems. Bryan graduated as valedictorian from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 2012 and received his M.S. in mechanical engineering from Cornell University in 2016.
