Fabien Chraim is a co-founder and VP of Research & Development at Civil Maps, a San Francisco-based technology company developing cognition for autonomous vehicles. Under his leadership, Civil Maps is pioneering new ways for self-driving cars to precisely localize themselves in six dimensions and crowdsource dynamic, 3D maps at continental scale. Chraim has received several awards for his efforts in research, teaching, and sensing technology. He also possesses patents for machine vision and vehicle control in his name. After completing a bachelor's of engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut, he earned a master's degree in Civil Systems Engineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.
