2017 GTC San Jose

David C Martin

Hacker-in-residence, IBM Watson Cloud CTO Office

Speaker Bio

David Martin cut his programming teeth on blood gas analyzers in his father's pulmonary lab, learned C at the feet of the Berkeley and Sun Microsystems kernel teams, found LISP and POSTGRES with Stonebraker & Rowe, broke C++ at UW Madison, computed for chemists and doctors and health care providers and payers (and bankers and credit card companies :-( at UCSF, IBM and Dell, and has occasionally ventured into real-time image controlled robotics, B2C advertising, and decentralized health information exchanges. Currently, David is pushing IBM Watson into uncharted territory for sensing and responding at the edge with low latency using deep learning inferencing, utilizing blockchain and distributed container orchestration from IBM Horizon (http://bluehorizon.network/) to enable trust, accountability, and dynamic compensation for a decentralized community to teach Watson.
